Since becoming a mom earlier this fall, I find myself with so many motherhood-related thoughts throughout the day, and yet, little to no place to put them all. I began toying with the idea of starting my own blog, and, after much debate about the name, content, and style, I finally pulled the trigger — and I’m so glad that I did.
I figure that some of my readers will be people I know IRL or online (hi!) or complete strangers. If the latter applies to you, welcome, and this is a good place to start, as I wanted to introduce myself — and what this blog will entail.
My name is De, and in addition to being a new mom, I’m also a writer & editor. (You can read more about my bylines here and here.) My baby was born in September 2017, and her name is Izzy (or, as we refer to her quite often, Izzy Bird).
This blog will cover a lot of things: Life as a new mom, balancing work alongside parenting, tips/tricks, revelations, and a pretty hefty dose of real talk (because, let’s be honest, there can’t be enough of that on the internet among parents). I know the parent-blog space is a pretty wide one, so I’m hoping this will be a corner that’s simultaneously a breath of fresh air.
